A recent letter to the editor from Lance W. Johnson (April 21) congratulated Fresno County Supervisor Buddy Mendes for his unprofessional outburst toward a concerned citizen.
Janaki Jagannath was passionate regarding the water issues surrounding the Fresno County water treatment facility serving El Porvenir. Without getting into the logistics and politics of the issues at hand, I am appalled with the lack of respect first exhibited by Buddy Mendes in his outburst toward Ms. Jagannath and now with Mr. Johnson’s letter labeling Ms. Jagannath as a “lazy activist.”
If Mendes’ behavior is a barometer of how concerned citizens will be treated in the future, how will anyone feel comfortable in “coming to the table” to discuss community issues in a rational and respectful manner? I am wondering if Mr. Mendes and Mr. Johnson are graduates of Trump University.
