Is there such a thing as too much political correctness?
My 84-year-old friend on the East Coast lost her husband about eight years ago. Another friend, age 82, lost her husband about five years ago. The two women team up to go to movies, the theater and concerts. They also help each other out in emergencies since neither has children in the immediate area.
Recently the older woman passed out at home and needed to go to the emergency room. Her friend drove here there. While they were waiting for attention, a nurse came by and commented on what a beautiful engagement ring the patient wore. Then the nurse looked at the other woman and said, “and you gave it to her, right?”
