I am writing in response to the letter, “Keep religion out of public events,” (Jan. 20). Lyn Anderson wants the person praying to pray a generic prayer to a generic god.
How does one pray a generic prayer to a generic god? Do we just say words to be politically correct? Should we not pray from the heart to the God that we normally pray to? The only way to keep religion out of public events is not to pray at all and then what do we become?
