If it weren’t for the Veterans Affairs Hospital, I probably wouldn’t be here. Yet every time I go there, I end up driving around looking for a place to park – to even get into this fine hospital!
The people who work at the VA give us vets their best every day. But before I can even see any of these wonderful, dedicated people, I have to park three blocks away and walk from the neighborhood. Give me a break – I am 73 years old!
I understand there is land across the street – sold to the city of Fresno at a low price – where vets could park. Please, Mayor Ashley Swearengin, just an acre or two for us vets would be very much appreciated. After all, the good people of the Valley enjoy their freedom because of us. All we ask is for a place to park!
A causeway across Clinton Avenue or even a shuttle could get us to our doctors faster and more efficiently. So to all the Fresno vets, please call or write the mayor. We can get this done!
Never miss a local story.
