Re: the Marshall Islands being swallowed up by the ocean (New York Times, Dec. 2), I completely agree with India’s Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar’s response: “So what?”
Those folks live in a horrible slum that needs to be washed away. They need to be relocated to clean, new, subsidized higher-rise housing on higher ground elsewhere.
The same goes for all the other low-lying slums of the world. Their countries and the developed nations should take advantage of the opportunity being provided by rising sea levels to clean out some horrendous living conditions.
