I am a volunteer at the Fresno Veterans hospital. I am hoping to spread awareness about the lack of funding for the hospital. Unfortunately our veterans have to wait extremely long for care. A lot of this is due to the lack of money allocated to them.
VA patients wait an extremely long time in the waiting room and often a long time for prescriptions. We need to make the community aware so we can potentially fix this problem. Even as a volunteer, I waited over six weeks to get into the facility. A lot of this was due to the lack of staff, which caused paperwork to get backed up.
We need to come together as a community and spread the word. We can do simple things to help a veteran out. Even if it is as simple as encouraging people to volunteer a little of their time at the hospital. Volunteers save the hospital millions of dollars picking up the slack.
The hospital needs drivers to get vets to and from appointments.
