I was impressed with The Bee’s front-page coverage of the passing of blues music icon B.B. King (May 16), and the fascinating story of his influence on so many musicians and genres of music worldwide.
Affording national treasures like Mr. King their place in our community’s news specter demonstrates sensitivity and awareness. It reaches across racial and cultural lines to celebrate how many true American heroes we are so fortunate to have had touch our lives.
B.B. King performed in Fresno and in many other cities in California in his storied career, and those of us who were witness to his live performances and listened to his recordings are vastly richer for having done so.
