History tells us that Rome burned while Nero fiddled. Will it be said someday that California burned by lack of water while Assembly members and Senate members sat on their gilded commodes allowing it to happen?
Please, state legislators, get off your iron-rails fixation and spend a portion of that high-speed rail money on water for this dry state. High-speed rail can wait — we’ve waited this long, what’s another 10 years?
Water cannot wait. Consider immediate bipartisan measures for transporting water down the I-5 corridor from the Pacific Northwest to be pumped into thirsty California reservoirs.
I’m sure that Oregon and Washington can be “cajoled” into allowing us their excess water for many millions of U.S. greenbacks. Or would you rather continue resting on your gilded commodes, waiting for it to rain?
