Thank you to Paul Bissonette (letter April 5) for writing about lawn and tree watering. Most of water wasting does not only apply to lawns, but so much of everyday usage.
It is unbelievable that more and more large communities are forging ahead with projects (acres and acres) — calling for water use by people daily — when we are facing an overwhelming emergency situation with no long-term fixes in place.
Think about it hard and long. Not all homeowners can just quickly pull out all landscaping and replace it immediately. We need to also try to keep our neighborhoods presentable.
So let’s call on our politicians to get very involved in really addressing this gigantic water problem and quit putting all the guilt on homeowners. Above all, the solutions needed are way past due and must be dealt with now!
