I’ve had mixed feelings about criticizing and commenting on the unethical promotion of an ex-felon, wife-beater creep such as Floyd “Money” Mayweather continuing to reap millions because Las Vegas will do anything to make a dollar until I listened to Colin Cowherd on ESPN on April 27. I realized I wasn’t an outlier about Floyd Mayweather and the whole Vegas corrupt licensing commission that’s seems to be in bed with the creep.
It’s about making money for Vegas by playing us.
To begin with, yes, Mr. Mayweather, the egomaniac, is one of the best boxers in the history of the sweet science. But the operative word is “one.” He’s only one of many, some even more talented than he. There have been those more interesting to watch and enjoy, those with styles and talent beyond Mr. Mayweather. The hype is out of context with history, though Mr. Mayweather now announces he’s better than Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson because of his undefeated record.
He would have been a better track star, because he spent more time running instead of standing and fighting.
