It is very disturbing to hear people say they are not concerned about the lack of groundwater; they will “just pay the higher bill” for all the water their green yard needs.
I have never heard such a selfish response to a critical situation that affects us all. When the wells are dry and the under groundwater is gone, you will miss turning on the tap for a glass of water, and that can’t be fixed with your checkbook.
Just because you are affluent does not mean that this natural resource is only for you to purchase.
P.S.: To the city of Clovis, does not the water in your area evaporate more quickly if the watering is between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., as it does every place else?
