I read, with interest, your interviews with Rep. Nunes in last Sunday’s paper. Although I have been a Nunes supporter, this interview reaffirmed to me the evolution in him that I have seen over the last year. . Nunes has become an angry partisan, and I thought I would never say such a thing about a politician that I once had great hope for.
The part that really got me was the last question asked, and Nunes’ response. The question was about public forums, and would Nunes be holding such events, part of his job. His attack on The Bee in his answer said two things to me.
First, he has open contempt for, and hates being challenged by any source except Fox News, and he believes his avoidance of such forums in the past are his right, and shouldn’t be questioned.
These are traits exhibited by those who believe they have risen above those who elected him, and by the fourth rail of American politics, the press.
Never miss a local story.
Sadly, it appears that Nunes has become part of that corrupt, self-aggrandizing establishment that he rails against. I looked for motives in this piece, and found the Bee integrous, and Nunes lacking.
