The recent store and restaurant closures on Shaw Avenue in northwest Fresno are starting to really concern me.
I'm worried that if we don't attract some strong and good businesses back into these empty spots, West Shaw Avenue may head into a place we don't want it to go.
We already have homeless camping under the bridge on Marks Avenue, just north of Shaw Avenue, and panhandlers that nearly block your exit from Costco on West Shaw Avenue.
Never miss a local story.
Please Fresno City Council, take the lead in giving tax incentives so that good businesses will fill these empty slots.
