A huge “thumbs up” to the city of Fresno’s Tim Smith and his crews for replacing two burned-out streetlight bulbs in a block of my neighborhood!
An equally huge “thumbs down” to Fresno’s elected officials who have constrained city work efforts due to budget constraints and personnel cutbacks such that these repairs took in excess of five months — thus creating the potential for increased crime and reduced public safety.
By the way, what ever happened to my City Council representative who campaigned on the platform of “personally” replacing streetlight bulbs and who also received a tremendous amount of media publicity and notoriety on this issue?
I guess that this is just a another case of our elected officials taking responsibility via smoke screens, mirrors, and camouflage — filed under the heading of “bureaucratic sloppiness.”
Never miss a local story.
