Thank you, Bill McEwen (column April 16) and letter writer Carlos Villegas (April 17) for defending truth.
Mr. Cabrera states in his April 15 letter, “The United States should not recognize the Armenian genocide.”
Turkey, an angry uncontrollable bully, in denial of its criminal record, a danger to mankind, must face accountability. Even though the U.S. gives Turkey billions of dollars, yours and mine, during the Iraq War the U.S. was barred from using Turkey’s bases. Turkey is a chronic manipulator, a beast in sheep’s skin, fearing its own shadow, and a hermit crab who crawled into the historic 3,000 year ancient homeland of the Armenians, with a trail of blood of millions.
I am a naturalized U.S. citizen who has learned to respect Old Glory, which represents the great USA — the leader of the world. It hurts me to my core to see the high flying Star Spangled Banner, bowing in fear to the wishes and commands of Turkey. Champion and defender of truth, Uncle Sam, has lost his muscle. My 65-year beacon of liberty and justice, the Statue of Liberty, has melted into the sea in shame.
Time for resurrection of truth.
