I would like to thank Dorothy Sedley (letter April 7) for expressing my thoughts about improper use of expressions in standard written language.
I have a problem with certain spoken expressions on television. Just the other day, I heard a person on ABC30 say, “Her and her co-workers.” I screamed at the television and said, “She and her co-workers.”
Some people only hear proper grammar on the news or in a classroom, and I feel so disappointed when the broadcaster makes such an error. Neither of us are out of touch, Dorothy, we just appreciate proper language usage, both written and spoken.
