I am amazed that Gov. Jerry Brown is asking people to reduce consumption by 25% when new construction continues.
Why should existing homeowners be punished even more? I personally have reduced consumption dramatically, but I have a wife and three kids who need clean clothes, a couple of baths a week and clean dishes. Not to mention that our air quality is already bad, and if you let lawns and trees die, it will only get worse.
Our government leaders need to stop new growth immediately until the drought ends or we find a water solution. If we have two more years of drought, we will have to reduce how much water we drink.
Lastly, in the Madera Ranchos, no outdoor watering us allowed this summer, but let’s build thousands of more homes in the area.
I rest my case. No water and air you can’t breathe. Who will want to, or better yet, who can live here?
