My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr. Ghazal on his passing last month.
I met him in 1996, to discuss surgery on my left shoulder. His demeanor was very pleasant and he expressed deep concern for my well-being. The entire surgical procedure was flawless.
What struck me the most about him was his compassion. When he visited me a few hours later in my room, I went on and on about the stresses in my personal life.
He patiently waited until I was done, gave me bits of advice and what I will never forget are his final words to me that night. As he was about to leave the room, he turned to me and said, “Don’t cry over spilled milk.”
Never miss a local story.
I have carried those words with me to this day. Dr. Ghazal, I assure you, I have learned not to cry over spilled milk.
