The arrest of Deputy Chief Keith Foster is a blot on every law enforcement agency in the United States, not just Fresno. If in fact he is guilty, he will pay a tremendous personal price and have betrayed the badge, the department and the community.
However, the Fresno Police Department should not be disparaged for the actions of one man, any more than the school system, medical or legal profession should be disparaged for the acts of an errant teacher, doctor or lawyer.
Chief Jerry Dyer is an honest person and a devout Christian. He will not and does not condone nor tolerate lies or personal misconduct of his officers.
Fresnans should be proud of and support the officers of the police department, as well as the sheriff’s office. They put their lives on the line for us everyday and without them there would be absolute chaos.
Next time you see a law-enforcement officer, thank them, shake their hand or give them a hug. They deserve our respect and support.
