How amazing that Fresno which has had essentially no effective general plan for the past 50 years, allowing unbridled suburban sprawl in its fringes while causing blight in the city core, suddenly has a reason to fight new development in the inner city.
In a blighted neighborhood, where many businesses have closed and there is essentially nothing, new development of any sort should be welcome, spurring revitalization of the inner city.
Having witnessed backward and ineffective leadership chase away multiple opportunities for central and downtown Fresno over the past 30 years, from chasing away the new UC campus to mismanaging the ballpark and throwing up obstacles for any worthwhile efforts to bring new business to central and downtown Fresno, I suppose there really is nothing new.
Backward and ineffective leadership in Fresno continues.
Never miss a local story.
