You’ve got to wonder what’s going on in Washington, D.C., again. Just when it seemed the two political parties had nowhere further to run away from each other, the Republicans not only invite a foreign leader to speak publicly on our soil without notifying the president, but a group of senators send a letter to Iran’s hard line leaders to let them know that anything the president does without their OK isn’t, well, OK.
This latest shouldn’t really be a surprise, since we all know history tends to repeat itself. We have only to look as far back as 1979, when Republicans conspired behind the scenes with Iran’s Revolutionary Council to hold off on releasing the embassy prisoners until such time that Ronald Reagan was assured a victory against Jimmy Carter.
I don’t even understand why the Republicans are even worried about which “liberal” attempts to fill President Obama’s shoes. When is the last time the Democrats managed to stay in office more than two terms in a row?
We Americans suffer constantly from buyer’s remorse, but the Republicans pulling these stunts can’t seem to figure that out.
