Barry Bauer’s well-presented, sensible piece in The Bee on Mar. 6 describes a classic example of a catch-22 situation. Hunters are forbidden to use widely available ammunition and forced to use that which will soon become unavailable.
Unintended consequences often result from hastily researched decisions. The ultimate result of this ill-advised regulation banning lead ammunition will be the virtual extinction of sport hunting in California. Wait — maybe that was the intention in the first place!
