Each year as its talented students graduate, it’s easy to wonder where the Roosevelt School of the Arts program will get new talent. Don’t worry. The current production of “Into the Woods” proves there’s no problem.
Twelve sophomores and five freshmen have merged with the upper classmen we have come to appreciate over the years for their singing and acting to offer a stunning musical. Clearly they devoted long hours to rehearsals. In addition, the crew responsible for sets, lighting, sound and costumes deserves highest kudos along with the dedicated faculty.
Director Kathryn Koch commented that the students inspired her with “their unbridled passion for bringing the characters to life.” The show was a hit on Broadway, as a Hollywood musical and now at Roosevelt High with performances on Saturday and Sunday, and again on March 14-15. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Don’t miss it!
Never miss a local story.
