Victor Davis Hanson believes we should pull out the saber of World War II and dive back into the muck of a Middle East conflict.
The only thing he got right is that Americans are sick and tired of war in the Middle East. Specifically, what has 15 odd years of conflict gotten for the average American?
Sure, the rich are now the super rich but what about everyone else? Wages have remained stagnant for 30 years, the middle class has shrunk, and the working poor and just plain poor have risen.
Are we safer? Over 16,000 Americans were murdered last year by other Americans. We have more people in jail than any other country in the world. Yemen, Syria, Libya, and Iraq are all immersed in civil wars. Their own people are fighting each other.
This state of war has not benefited Americans. It has almost bankrupted us and driven us apart. We have let the American monsters out from their closets and they have resurrected torture, civil discord and fascism here at home.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Let Mr. Hanson draw his saber and lead the charge. When he turns around, he will be surprised.
