The Association of Mexican American Educators (AMAE) of Fresno deserves a “thumbs up” for the success of the 20th annual ¡Si Se Puede! Conference at Fresno State.
The Latino male conference was co-sponsored by Fresno State Outreach Services and the Fresno County Office of Education. There were about 300 students in grades 7-12 who came from Fresno, Clovis, Central and Madera unified school districts, plus the Armona Union Elementary School District.
The students attended workshops presented by Latino professionals in careers such as engineering, medicine, graphics, law enforcement, business, government, architecture, media and education. The students were motivated, inspired and challenged to follow the footsteps of the Latino professionals who shared with passion and purpose their stories of success.
AMAE is preparing students to be college-and-career ready upon graduation from their high schools. As educators, let’s continue to collaborate, communicate and connect our young students with successful role models, who are leaders with integrity, respect and honor.
Never miss a local story.
