A giant thank you to the three good Samaritans who rescued me and my two 10 pound dogs from a vicious attack by a large brown boxer and a terrier mix about 9 a.m. on Feb. 13, as we walked our usual route south on Maroa Avenue near Paul Avenue.
My dogs were aggressively attacked from the rear, with no warning (no collars/tags on attackers). In the process of trying to fend off the attacking dogs, I received a serious gash on my forearm. One dog was bitten and traumatized.
Thanks to a good Samaritan who made a U-turn on Maroa Avenue to assist us, the attackers were scared off.
Within five minutes of his call to 911, an emergency medical team arrived and, shortly after, a police officer. Both took reports and assisted us. In addition, a couple in the house across the street heard my cries and also came to help.
If it had not been for the unknown first arrival, I don't know what would have happened. I honor all of them.
The owners of these dogs need to be identified and accept responsibility.
