In 2015, there are a lot of exciting new electric vehicles coming on the market.
In Los Angeles, the Bay Area and even Sacramento, there are many public places with charging stations. Sadly, Fresno has fallen way behind in the electric vehicle front.
I live in Coarsegold and use my electric car to commute to work, where I am able to slow-charge my car with a wall plug. Fortunately, I have a 10-hour shift and can get just enough charge to get home.
However, the only other way I can get a charge in Fresno is at the dealership on Blackstone and Barstow avenues. This is a problem if I want to go to dinner or a movie, since the dealership closes at 8 p.m. or earlier.
Our community needs a charging station in several more public places, particularly Riverpark. I would love some media attention on this issue. Electric cars are the future and the future has arrived. Let’s help Fresno join the 21st century.
