On Feb. 9, I finally received my ballot to vote no on the new water plan. This should have been a real election, with consumers able to vote yes or no and the outcome based on ballots turned in.
Here is a way to raise money for the new water plan. I see in San Francisco at least 18,500 old high-pressure sodium vapor lights are being replaced with new energy-efficient white LED lights using 75% less electricity, and providing much brighter light. LED lights lasts up to 30 years, reducing maintenance. They will be smart lights and be able to be turned on brighter for special events. This conversion of the dim orange lights to bright LEDs would provide more safety and save the city money.
