I was touched by the mother who forgave the shooter whose stray bullet hit and killed her 9-year-old daughter, Janessa Ramirez, at the northeast corner of Clinton and Marks avenues, on the night of Jan. 18.
This brings to mind that if those who believe that expressing anger and hate and resort to violence to seek revenge will bring them peace of mind, so be it.
No one is closer to God and stands taller than a person like this mother, who forgives and shows more concern for others than herself.
I hope this tragedy and the loss of this innocent child’s life will bring others to think before they act and learn from the consequences of this behavior. My condolences to the mother and family.
