I read the article about the potential for a fox’s den near the high-speed rail project and the havoc it is causing. I feel so sorry for the fox!
I know of so many other species being uprooted by the rail project and their needs to find other habitats that it is unfortunate the Department of Fish and Game is not trying to protect them.
There is the almost extinct farmer, who provides food for the human population that needs consideration for placement on the endangered list.
There is also the human self-employed business owner being displaced without any fanfare who also needs an application for endangered species.
Never miss a local story.
There is also the endangered taxpayer, who is about to reach the bottom of his checkbook — another application please!
Fish and Game should be proud of itself for protecting the worlds of endangered species! It’s just too bad that we humans are expendable in the scheme of high-speed rail. We are not only losing homes and businesses, but the sanctity of our vote. That is being ignored because our politicians know best and don’t need approval for spending projects.
Congratulations to them all!
