Our Founding Fathers used the term “delegate” to describe politicians who believe in direct democracy in contrast to “trustees” who unilaterally make decisions disregarding the needs of their constituency.
I can’t think of a better “delegate” than Kings County Supervisor Richard Valle, who represents the Kettleman City area of Kings County. We are in the process of opening a business and needed access to water. I called Supervisor Valle and he arranged a conference call with the necessary government agencies that very same day.
I didn’t know Mr. Valle before placing the call and have never contributed to his campaigns. He took an oath to serve the people of California, and he is doing an excellent job performing his duties as an elected representative. Thank you, Supervisor Valle.
Never miss a local story.
