The ridiculously misguided compassion of Dougas L. Gordon (letter Jan. 31) makes me crazy!
Arresting someone who endangers the life of a child is not bullying, and “poor folks” are not exempt! There were plenty of neighbors home at the time of the fire who knew there were children in there.
Does this woman live in such a void that there is no one to help her? Of course not! There are endless social programs that only subsidize this type of situation, and it’s the children who pay the price.
They are literal prisoners of this woman and I support anything that will give them a better opportunity in life than there own mother seems capable of providing.
