Well, former mayor Jim Patterson was right. We should not have built the downtown stadium. The city is selling a $330,000 stadium stage for $25,000 — a 92% loss. On top of that, the city thinks they are getting the better end of the deal. How is taking a 92% loss a “good deal?” The city’s motto apparently is “buy high, sell cheap.”
I would be ashamed to even let the taxpayers know that the city is doing such a stupid business deal. If the city of Fresno were a private entity, they would have filed bankruptcy years ago.
But then why should the city care about the loss of taxpayers money when they will always have the residents of Fresno to keep paying taxes? If these city fathers were using their own money, I bet they would make better deals.
Never miss a local story.
