In The Bee on Jan. 30, there was a letter from four very intelligent sixth-graders. They conducted an experiment and proved their point on how temperature change can effect air pressure.
Sorry to say, they, along with many others, overlooked the most important point. There were 24 footballs inflated to the same pressure in the AFC championship game. They were all subjected to the same temperature change. All 24 balls were checked for the correct pressure at halftime.
Eleven of the 12 balls from the New England side had the incorrect pressure. The 12 balls on the Indianapolis side still had the correct pressure.
Correct conclusion: Somebody from New England let some air out.
