Did I leave America or did America leave me?
I remember very well listening to my grandparents and even my parents tell me about the “good old days.” I’d think, oh boy here we go again. I remember thinking that was then, and this is now. The things they spoke of were the price of things, the harder way of life, the morals, modesty, and the fact that most Americans believed in God and loved America.
Well, it’s my turn. I grew up in the 70s and 80s, and while those were times that pushed the boundaries, I now realize that although tame compared to today, it set the stage. Fighting was done with fists, and we didn’t worry about being shot. Gangs were around, and every once in a while, an innocent person would be their victim. Bad morality was being pushed to a level that had never been seen in America.
Those times today seem mild. Why the radical change? Here’s my take: fatherlessness, liberalism, the holocaust of abortion, the break up of the traditional family, etc. All these have one common theme, America has rejected the God of the Bible. We are reaping the whirlwind.
