Congratulations to our Fresno County Tax Assessor Paul Dictos for having the tenacity to stand up for what is right for the taxpayers of Fresno County.
I commend Mr. Dictos for taking the high road on behalf of taxpayers and not allowing his office to get embroiled in a heated contest with the previous Fresno County Board of Supervisors. Also, I commend the new Board of Supervisors for voting to approved the $2.06 million state grant.
Under Mr. Dictos’ leadership, not only has the assessor’s office prospered, but it has also risen to its highest level of productivity and respectability, as indicated by the findings of the state Board of Equalization and the Fresno County grand jury.
Unfortunately, a supermajority of the previous Board of Supervisors didn’t vote in the best interest of the taxpayers to accept a much-needed grant to hire much-needed staff for the assessor’s office and to upgrade the technology that would make that office more efficient in carrying out its functions and duties.
Never miss a local story.
