The U.S. Supreme Court Justice’s decision to not hear the high-profile California water case devalues human life. The Jan. 13 article implies that the appellate court will protect the smelt, whatever the cost!
Our water problem is a political one. We should be reserving a greater percentage of the Sacramento River for human use. These justices owe the people of California and all human life a moral apology for putting smelt above human life. Our government was created to protect the people! We will destroy ourselves from the inside if we don’t! The court has lost sight of it’s responsibility. An apology and action to set things right are greatly needed.
How proud will Gov. Brown feel when his bullet-train legacy stands alongside Californians eating canned food from China? Wasn’t it Marie Antoinette who famously said, “Let them eat cake!” when the people had no bread?
