"Land of the free, home of the brave" -- this was once the motto that defined this wonderful country. It seems these are no longer applicable. We can no longer imply America is the land of the free in view of the large numbers of illegal immigrants who seem to claim this as "their" land, and we are faced to accept this. The number of citizens who insist that we cease our involvement in the middle of the Iraq conflict indicates we are no longer in the "home of the brave."
It seems attitudes have definitely changed with the introduction of the "baby boomers" into the American sphere. National attitudes seemed to change in the period of the Vietnam and Korean conflicts. Perhaps it won't be long until this great country is defeated in all worldly conflicts.
