I just read your Jan. 22 editorial "A different message" and had to respond. Kudos to Tulare County for moving forward with MyStrength, a violence prevention program that educates young men about the importance of speaking "out against violence against women."
I disagreed with the opinion of The Bee regarding only one thing. You laud the progressive stance of Tulare County regarding the program, but go on to state you would like to see the program go "Valleywide if the results are good." Define "good."
If this program could prevent one woman from being beaten or raped, it is successful in my book. Committing resources aimed at educating young men and getting them involved in the fight against violence that is perpetuated against women sounds like a fantastic idea to me.
