They are successful
Amen to Cynthia Brickey's Valley Voices column (Jan. 13) supporting vocational education in today's high schools.
Teaching in the vocational (career/technical education) department at Fresno Adult School, I see first hand that not all individuals have to graduate with a college degree to be a success. Most of our students in the CTE department are trained for custodial, food service or office/medical assistant positions. These people are successful, and they fill jobs that are important in our society's occupational framework.
Support vocational education classes in high schools and adult campuses. A person does not have to be a "college graduate" to have a meaningful and fulfilling career.
