I appreciate Editorial Page Editor Jim Boren's column on opinions and bias Dec. 10. I, too, was critical of his earlier pieces. His two columns in question were on redistricting, using Rep. George Radanovich as his foil, and Sacramento politics, using Assembly Member Mike Villines in that one -- both Republicans -- in his titles and opening of each column.
Later in each column, he mentioned how Democrats were also responsible for both situations not being optimum, in some cases more so as they are the majority in Sacramento. I suggested to him that constructing his headlines and columns consistently with "bad" Republicans can be construed as biased when the problems are greater than the Republican examples he cited. I'll let the readers decide.
Good on Mr. Boren for his open dialogue.
