I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to the three firemen from Clovis Engine 44 who helped me this evening. I was trying to assist my adult son from his wheelchair into the car. Besides being a partial quadriplegic, he has diabetes and was suffering from low blood sugar and could not help at all.
As he was slipping out of his wheelchair, I knew that I was not going to be able to get him in the car. I was seconds away from calling 911, when I looked up and could not believe my eyes. I saw three men walking on the sidewalk, and it was with blessed relief that I saw their shirts and realized they were firemen.
They helped me get my son into the car and asked if I needed any other help with either my son or loading the wheelchair. I said I did not, but they told me the restaurant they were going to and said to come get them if I more needed help.
I thank them, not only for helping me personally, but for everything they do for our community. God’s blessings to you.
Never miss a local story.
