Kudos to the generous group of football players from Fresno City College who assisted the Navy veteran in his wheelchair get down to and back up from Crystal Cave in Sequoia National Park.
I know from experience what a grueling climb it is unimpeded. To have helped this 94-year-old gentleman revisit the spot where he had worked – helping to make this natural phenomenon accessible to all prior to his service in World War II – was a very selfless act of kindness.
Without having been there, I’m sure this was also a perfect example of team effort. Keep up the good work, guys!
Never miss a local story.
