Garry Bredefeld needs to get out of public service and find himself a job doing what he really wants, which is to be a preacher. He should not have any problem finding a job doing that as there is approximately one church for every thousand people here in Fresno.
Bredefeld does not understand that he is not the “anointed one.” If he thinks that the only way God enters any public building is either by tacking a sign up, or having people pray in in it, then he should go to some kind of school and re-study the teachings of Jesus Christ. There are enough issues in front of his public service. I do not see the need for Bredefeld to start pushing a ridiculous project like this.
He was elected to do the public’s business in city government, and I don’t think preaching is one of them. God is already everywhere and does not need Bredefeld’s help. This is just another attempt by an insecure human who thinks he is in charge of finding God for everyone else. I voted for Garry, but never again. He is not cut out for public service in the civil sense of the word.
He should ask himself the same question Jesus posed to several of His apostles when they went to seek him out while He was communing privately with God: “Why do you seek for someone who is not lost?”
Never miss a local story.
