In response to The Bee’s article “New Clovis Library and Senior Center”:While that is good, it would have been better to add a general community center where poor folks can get services like public assistance, health vaccinations, drug intervention, a basketball court for kids and so on.
Clovis is no longer a farming town like it was before with a population of 15,000. It has almost 100,000 people and it is still growing. There are needs, not just from folks who live near downtown, but also in other places where tons of apartment have been built.
The city just cannot build just one library or senior center. It is important to see the big picture and build accordingly.
