Yes, Planned Parenthood does not require parental consent. The reason for this lies solely at the feet of those many parents who do not talk to their children about the “facts of life.” The river of denial runs ever so deep for those who do not believe “my child(ren)” could be capable of any sexual activity during their teen years.
Planned Parenthood is not about abortions. It is about preventing pregnancy in the first place. It’s about a woman’s health, prevention against contracting diseases, treating diseases and providing birth control, whether by pill or by shot. It prevents thousands of unwanted pregnancies so that abortion becomes a non-issue.
I can only imagine the fear facing young immigrants being deported without their parents’ knowledge, but I have seen firsthand the faces of countless young teenage women scared to death once becoming pregnant. Their biggest fear being their own parents above the actual pregnancy.
Being disowned, forced to have a child while being a child, forced adoptions and permanent disgrace. So, parents need to step up and talk to their own children about sex, about life and about consequences.
Comparing immigration to Planned Parenthood is just plain nuts.
