I’m a senior who had lost all confidence in the younger generations until recently. Thank goodness they proved me wrong!
My truck died on Ashlan Avenue near Clovis Avenue – no electronics, frozen in gear and blocking the road. While I was trying to direct traffic around my truck, four young men jumped out of their vehicles and came to help.
These young men didn’t know each other – they just knew I needed help. It took 30 minutes to get my truck off to the side of the road with a lot of effort from those four. Then, before I could even say “Thank you,” they were gone.
So, my words of wisdom are: It takes people like these, people who care, to make a great community – no matter what the age. Hopefully, I will be able to pay that help forward to someone else in need. No longer will I doubt the thoughtfulness of the young people in our loving country. I am a grandmother with a changed attitude!
Never miss a local story.
