The last few weeks there have been numerous stories about how divided our country has become because of the recent presidential campaign. This I believe has been created by a culture of us- versus- them mentality of small-minded politicians and the media.
On Friday night, the country has a chance to witness what a small town can do to unite all backgrounds of people into one tribe supporting their Sanger Apaches. Sanger High will welcome Ridgeview for the Division II championship football game, and you will see a student section as diverse as a United Nations meeting standing side by side cheering for their Apaches.
You will look in the stands and find all walks of life, from doctors to field workers, truck drivers to bankers united for a Friday night tradition that only a few lucky towns are able to enjoy on the first Friday in December.
So, as a proud Sanger resident for the last 22 years, come and witness what a small town has done to really make America great again. Go Apaches!
Tal Cloud, Sanger
