Kings River district's David Orth of Clovis reappointed to state water panel

The general manager of the Kings River Conservation District was reappointed by Gov. Jerry Brown to the California Water Commission, the Governor's Office said.

David Orth, 56, of Clovis has been the district's general manager since 2002. He was vice president of resource management at California Valley Land Co. Inc. from 2000-02 and held multiple positions at the Westlands Water District from 1986 to 2000. The position has to be confirmed by the state Senate and compensation is $100 per day.
