Yosemite National Park has posted a video to help visitors better experience the natural attraction. Among the park’s ideas for getting the most out of a trip to the area is to explore some of the gateway communities just outside the park for opportunities to horseback ride, fly-fish, mountain bike and more.
Recent weather conditions and rising temperature have led to gushing waterfalls in Yosemite National Park. The waterfalls will peak sometime in May. Some of the seasonal falls will likely run until mid- to late summer, according to a park representative.
Yosemite National Park attracts about 4 million visitors every year, and those visitors arrive with money to spend. Yosemite is an important economic engine to nearby communities in its "gateway" region within 60 miles of the park. The National Park Service estimates Yosemite generated about $380 million in direct visitor spending at businesses inside and outside the park in 2012, the most recent year for which figures were available (in June 2014).
